What’s the best foundation for a shed in Oklahoma?

If you’re building on Oklahoma soil — and you are — here’s what you need to know. Our clay-heavy ground expands and contracts with moisture, which means you want a foundation that can flex a little.

For most residential sheds, a level gravel pad works great. Spread 4-6 inches of crushed rock over landscape fabric, level it, and you’ve got a solid base that drains well and keeps moisture away from the floor.
